Gabrielle began practicing yoga in 1999 and after many years found Sri Dharma Mittra, her beloved teacher, with whom she has been studying for several years.
With nearly 1000 hours of teacher training certifications and many more hours in workshops and classes Gabrielle is dedicated to a yogic lifestyle which includes love and compassion for all beings . Her first training was in Southern California with Beth Shaw; followed by a move to Baltimore and where she completed Charm City Yoga’s 200 hr. teacher training with Kim Manfredi. Gabrielle is a pranayama certified teacher through Cindi Lee at Om Yoga. And, a Yoga of Recovery teacher- certified through Swami Sitaramananda at Sivananda Yoga. Gabrielle also has certifications with Dharma Mittra at the 500 and 800hr level. In 2015 Gabrielle received the honor of being initiated by Sri Dharma, her beloved teacher, as Yogini Kali Om.
Gabrielle is dedicated and enjoys teaching and learning about yoga. At first learning is at the intellectual level. When we put what we have learned into practice, we have experiences- these experiences represent knowledge; through knowledge we obtain wisdom. The intention in teaching students is to facilitate the experience of practicing yoga into something meaningful, insightful, and attainable.
She is the author of “My Life List: Yoga Journal”- a reference book and guided journal that leads yoga practitioners from the foundation of yoga to developing their own personal practice and provides a method to record their path along the way.
